a word from the author

This site is a passage into the most valuable gift I’ve been granted from life-

time.

I am moved with delight to share how I spend my time in what I have found to be extensively meaningful ways. From art, crafting, and tactile projects, to musical playlists and creating sounds to put a little boogie in my step, finding a sense of individual empowerment through the way I dress, to going for a quick walk when feeling lost on any particular day.

Speaking of ‘particular’ though, what I am particularly excited to write about is how the sum of these things have fit together like an especially “jiggy” jigsaw puzzle and finding healing through artistic abstinence, innovative moderation, inventive reclamation, and what I like to call, creative recovery.

Time…

There’s a lot of it I wish I could get back. A lot of dull, soggy memories I long to re-live. It’s easy to feel disappointed or angry towards a past version of me who wasn’t ready to hold onto each of those memories. Memories that slipped away into a forgotten pool in my fading mind. Not only did the people around me watch me fade away, but they also bore witness to the light inside me grow dim. The state of my mind and intention-less substance use were making my light fade.

and yet-

The light is in the word of the hour. Time. It heals what I have forgotten, it forgives, it creates what I will now appreciate as new recollections. Recollections I will cherish, and replay, also hold onto and enjoy.

I am additionally thankful to be able to shift the gaze of my walk of life directly forward and march ahead, to charge onwards into a life of peace and sunny simplicity.

I am grateful to seek the small joys and achievements of life, for example, crocheting a new hat and liking it maybe a little bit but also not really a lot. But hey… I made a hat with my own hands and that’s pretty cool! Or the time I spent an hour teaching my cat how to sit and spin around. It is these little moments and things I hope to share with you so maybe you can find some of those tiny jagged puzzle pieces of simple, sober, peaceful, healing joy.

Thank you for sharing your time with me. Now let’s create a few projects, some art, and find new self-reclamation of our lives! I hope you find a project or two that speak to you- oh, also enjoy!
